2006 Best Bath Remodel Over $50,000

Being asked to make a bathroom smaller is not something that happens very often...in fact this was the first time. the original master bathroom was too large for two people and was neither comfortable nor attractive. By taking the excess space from the bathroom, their small bedroom closet could become much larger and more functional. Angling the walls of the steam shower made it comfortable for two people without pinching the flow to the rest of the room. In addition, a small stepped half wall provides privacy for the stool but doesn't create a cave. River rock in a field of ceramic tile makes a path from the steam shower out to the vanity. The custom vanity has six different angled faces that are designed to reflect the flow of the room. Remnant granite was used for the vanity top and the seat in the steam shower. This master bathroom is now spa-like and the space is warm, comfortable, highly functional and appropriate to their home.
