These homeowners were adding
a pool to their backyard and asked us to design a pavilion that included
an outdoor kitchen. They wanted a shady and comfortable place to grill,
sit, and eat with privacy from their side neighbors and a full view of
the new pool. As part of this project, the homeowners also wanted to
widen their deck steps, replace their deck railing, and replace an
existing basement window with a door leading to a covered patio area.
They wanted all the new design elements to be unique and reflective of a
more modern style than their existing home.
We designed a dramatic steel
structure with a privacy wall on the neighbors’ side, and a cantilevered
overhang on the pool side. The outdoor kitchen includes a grill, sink,
beverage refrigerator and cooler. The tile pavers tie in seamlessly to
the pool hardscape and lower patio area. The pavilion is a design
feature enjoyed from every angle of this backyard renovation..
