The
owners needed a more spacious kitchen and dining space to entertain.
They wanted a design that updated the look of their home and made it
feel more open, while tying into the existing home well. A new dining
room addition was built. In the process, a bearing wall was removed to
connect the dining, kitchen and family rooms. This space can now be used
as one large room or three separate rooms. The barrel vaulted ceiling in
the dining room visually defines the dining space without physically
cutting it off with walls, as well as creates an exciting architectural
element. Curves and round shapes became a design theme that was carried
into the pendants, fireplace, and round window
