With
meticulous attention to every detail, we took this
long-neglected 1889 Victorian from a deteriorating eyesore to a
beautiful representation of its period. This historic exterior
restoration included removing and replacing all the siding on
one side of the house, restoring three balconies, replacing the
front porch and stairway, extensive replacing or repairing of
ornamental details, re-shingling the corner tower, stripping
decades of old paint, and repainting with a simpler, more
period-appropriate paint scheme. The greatest challenge was
convincingly integrating new and patched wood elements, from
custom-turned porch posts to minute dentil blocks.
