2001 Best Commercial Remodel
One of the major
challenges in this project was the 200 sq. ft. skylight in the atrium of
this office. The glass was of immense weight and needed to be
structurally rigid to prevent cracking and structural drift in a tornado
area. They used twelve custom built 2.5’ X 8’ panels to get the
necessary support. A full size crane lowered the glass panels on a steep
pitched roof. A variety of shapes and masses were used to bring the
building together to blend the commercial requirements with the feel of
residential.
