2002 Design/Build Award Whole House Remodel Over $500K

The master landscaping plan for the Druid Hills neighborhood in Atlanta was envisioned in the 1920’s by Frederick Law Olmstead, the landscape architect who designed New York’s Central Park. The area has been heralded as one of the nation’s finest early examples of a planned suburban residential community. The concept of this project is the transformation of a 1950’s ranch home into a home more in tune with its historic neighborhood. The scope included maintaining as much of the original foundation and brick façade as possible, and adding a second floor. The dilemma of how to blend old and new brick was met by applying a final stain to all the brick work. The result is a modern day living space for this growing family that is built with the character of its historical neighborhood.
