This suburban house had a lot of square footage, but the kitchen was
poorly defined and suffered from a profound lack of flow. With
creative design, the same amount of space was used much more
efficiently. To keep the budget within means, the existing cabinet
boxes were used and the Pergo floors were removed to reveal the
original hardwood maple underneath. Since most prep work happens in
the first foot and a half of the counter, they eliminated rarely
used space and provided room for a raised breakfast bar. Proving
that a beautiful kitchen can be created on a modest budget, this
place is a hit with the homeowners.
