2007 Addition $100,000 - $250,000
NATIONAL AWARD WINNER
This project is an
addition of a casita, which is connected to the main house by an entry
tower. The new room sits in the middle of what used to be the front lawn
with a large coral tree. The casita serves as guest accommodations and
opens to an interior courtyard. The entry tower creates a sequence,
which moves you from a newly created courtyard, complete with fountain,
through a custom gate and into the interior courtyard with a second
fountain and outdoor fireplace. With nowhere to add additional space on
the lot, the solution to remove a tree and create a series of
interconnected courtyards and gateways has created private areas and a
unique and intriguing path of entry from the street to the main set of
front doors.
